Author's Notes:

NOTE : I came up with the idea, when I thought about what would happen, if T Bone were alone, when a villain showed up and caused trouble. Usually, Razor is the one that gets them both out of trouble. I just thought it’d be cool to see what Chance’s course of action would be like. Seeing how his “Crazy Ivon” tactics would get him into more trouble than Flash Gordon. Also, I’ve always wanted to have an all out slug fest between T Bone and Dr. Viper.

PROLOGUE : Two Weeks ago….

Dark Kat began to chuckle, as he held up a small remote control device. “If I lose, everyone loses!” They all gasped. “Crud!” Razor cried out. “The whole place is wired to blow!” They all shot for the door. “MOVE!” Commander Feral shouted, as Razor grabbed Callie, and T Bone grabbed Manx, and they all ran for the Sea Kat. The Metalikats turned their guns towards Dark Kat. “If I’m gonna go–” Mack said. “I’m gonna go happy!”

Then, the bomb went off.

The explosion blew up the whole island. When the fireball had consumed all the land, the thick, black smoke began to rise up into the sky. When the smoke had cleared, the mangled bodies of the Metalikats could be seen. Bit of pieces of their metal bodies littered the area. Dark Kat’s body could not be seen. Just then, a huge piece of burnt wood began to move. It then shifted, and out came a scaly paw. Somehow, the good Doctor Viper, had survived. He crawled out of the wreckage, and rolled down the pile of burnt wood, and landed on a heap on the dusty ground. But he wasn’t going to live long. His body was bleeding badly. His lab coat was all but gone. He had lost his tail, and his right leg looked as if every bone in it had been smashed. He crawled, and clawed his way to the ocean. When he got there, he stopped moving, and place on paw into the cool, blue salty water. Then he died. The tides eventually came in, and swept his body out to sea.

CHAPTER 1

The City.

Megakat City.

Littered with towering concrete giants that seem to swallow up the sky.

They are silent —

–Frozen —

—Kat made guardians.

Below is where the city’s heartbeat is. The Katizens scurry about their business. Oblivious to the crowds—

—The congestion—-

—The pressure, yet, at times, some wish that they could just simply—-

Some look up as they here the roar of a three engine jet fighter plane.

—-RISE ABOVE IT ALL!!

The Turbo Kat roars low above the huge buildings, and jets off towards the harbor. Inside, one kat sits at the controls.

His name — T Bone! He is a SWAT Kat. However, he is alone. His partner is out of town, on a vacation. Now he is all that stands between order —

T Bone is suddenly distracted by a small explosion, somewhere below him.

—- and chaos.

Smiling, T Bone banks the jet hard right, and brings it down in the alley next the building that had the explosion.

It’s night time. A time for the scum and vermin to rise out of the darkness to feed.

Four kats have blown a huge hole in the side of an Enforcer weapons depo, and are robbing the place blind. Their semi-trailer is parked near the door, with its back door up. The four kats are grabbing all sorts of bombs, guns, and ammo, and throwing it into the back of the truck, despite the “Handle with Care” labels on some of them. A fifth kat leans out of the driver’s side window, and turns to face his four partners. “Hurry it up, will ya!” He hisses. “That explosion is bound to bring a lot of unwanted attention.”

“We’re moving as fast as we can Melvin!” one wearing a blue bandanna says, as he tosses five M-16 machine guns into the trailer. “But if you want to get out of here much more quickly, why don’t you get off your God damn fat ass and help us!”

“Never mind,” Melvin said, pulling his head back inside the truck.

“Nice night.”

Melvin jerked his head towards the sound of the voice only to receive a huge fist to the face.

Outside, the four kats heard a muffled thump. They all stopped what they were doing and all stared to the driver’s side window.

“Melvin?” a different kat called out. There was no answer. “Melvin?” he said again, drawing out a Smith ‘n’ Western, and pulling back the hammer. “Are you all right buddy?”

Suddenly, a burst of cement slugs shot out of the darkness, and knocked the gun-toting cowboy to the ground.

“What th–?!” Another cried out, but only to be silenced by a boomerang to the face. The thug was sent flying into a pile of crates.

“Christ! We’re under attack!” The two remaining kats both whipped out uzi’s and began to fire their rounds into the darkness from were the boomerang came.

“LOOK OU—-!” the one with the blue bandanna cried out, but was cut short as two bola missiles wrapped around them and knocked them to the ground. Their uzi’s fell silent and clattered to the ground.

One of the kats had been knocked out when he was knocked over, but the one with the blue bandanna was still awake. He struggled to break lose from the bonds that held him, but to no avail. Suddenly, he was aware of the sound of someone walking over empty shells. He rolled over so that he could see their attacker. He gasped. “The SWAT Kats?!” he cried out. T Bone looked down at him, and smiled. “Where’s the other one?” T Bone smiled.

“He decided to let me handle this alone. He’s waiting back at the jet.” He wasn’t going to let this punk know that the SWAT Kat team had been divided, or he might spread the word, and other morons like this lot might start making bolder attacks, knowing that there would be only ONE, SWAT Kat, and not two. T Bone stepped forward and flexed his claws. This frightened the poor kat.

“Are you going to kill me?” the thug asked. T Bone smiled. “No,” he said. “I’m a good guy.” He then slammed his fist into the kat’s face, knocking him out cold. “And, I don’t kill.” He then got up and looked around at his little handiwork. Dusting off his paws, he headed back for the TurboKat, as the sound of Enforcer sirens started to drift up over the noise of the busy shipping yard nearby.

Elsewhere —

—— In a long deserted mansion in the city’s southwest side. A single room is lit by a candle which seems to burn with more energy than it logically should. Next to it, is a small round bowl, with something burning in it, for a thick, gray smoke is rising out of it. In a darkened sanctuary — it begins.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

The steady primal beat of drums.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

The ritual fire pot.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

The praying to spirits.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

The allegiance to things most unholy.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Magic begins to reach out.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

A set of glowing red eyes stare out of the darkness. Just in front of the smoking bowl.

“Rise,” the figure says.

Further —

—and further.

At Megakat City Bay, the deep blackness of the water is still, and cold.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Suddenly, the eerie blackness of the water begins to bubble.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Its powers reach deep into the bay’s deepest depths.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Summoning the evil which lurks below.

Suddenly, the calm surface of the water begins to bubble, to let the world know that something is coming.

Summoning it to —-

The bubbling water suddenly explodes with a shower of water droplets, as Dr. Viper suddenly emerges.

—–RISE!

Meanwhile…..

“….Anyway, Jake, I just don’t understand these small time hoods,” Chance says into the phone. “They baffle me completely. I mean, are these guys even all there?!” He sits back down in the chair in the kitchen, as his best friend listens. “Don’t they realize that they’re up against T Bone, a SWAT Kat?”

Chance gives a dramatic pause. “Don’t they know that I’ve been up against big time baddies like Dark Kat, the Metalikats, Dr. Viper, Zed, Turmoil, Rex Shard, The Pastmaster, Hard Drive…. Hell, do you even remember those scorpions we fought a while back?!”

…..And listens.

“Yes Chance.” Jake says with a sigh. “I remember.”

“I’ve been up against all those, and yet, here they come along and expect that they can take me down?! Heck, I would really like to know what goes on in their heads. If all those villains couldn’t kill me, I’d really like to know, what made them think that they could!”

……And listens.

“Ever since we defeated our major bad guys, I’ve been kinda bored.”

Until…..

“You know Chance,” Jake says, “you could always pack up and leave for another city if you want. I mean, what’s to stop you?”

“You,” Chance replies. “Exactly,” Jake says. “You can’t stand to be without me, can’t you?”

“What do you mean? I’ve been doing quite well without you.”

“My point exactly. You’ve done so well against others that when you come down to the wire, you think you can be pretty awesome if you want to, right?”

“Right.”

“Well, that’s because you’ve never beaten me yet.” He then hung up the phone, laughing all the way.

“Why that little —- COME BACK HERE!!” Chance roared into the receiver. But all he got was the beep beep beeping of the other line which had hung up. Chance place the phone back on the hook. “Jerk,” was all he said.

At that very moment, across the other side of the City……

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Through the garbage it moves with quickness. Hoping to quench its burning hunger.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

A small rat is running through the deserted alley, past all the over turned trash cans, and garbage on the pathway. Cornered, the rat turns to face its chaser.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

It stops. Now instincts take over. Sensing the kill, it waits until the moment is right.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Then, it acts.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

A scaly paw suddenly crushes the rat. The zombie Dr. Viper picks it up and opens his mouth to reveal rows of razor sharp teeth.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

It is about to feast when —-

Dr. Viper suddenly hears the sound of breaking glass. Looking around the corner of the alley, he spies some crooks looting a T.V. shop.

—It spots even bigger rats.

The four looters robbing the shop suddenly turn in the direction of the alley.

“Did you hear something?” one of them asks.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

One kat is about to answer, when suddenly his eyes go wide. DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

“Oh, dear god,” he whispers.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Viper launches himself at the four startled kats, hissing and snarling all the way, spit flying from his mouth.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

It does not think. This unholy monstrosity.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

It only heeds the call of the drums.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

The four kats scream. The one closest to Viper is unlucky.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

With quickness, with viciousness……

The unlucky kat has his throat torn open. Blood goes flying and is splattered against the wall and his frightened friends.

The one closest to his unlucky comrade is Viper’s next victim. He is still screaming when Viper’s jaws close around his neck.

……The monster does exactly what it was created for.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

This perfect killing machine —-

Viper lifts both the dead kats above his head and throws one through the broken shop window, and the other, into a solid brick wall.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

—- Is killing.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

One punk, who is still half awake, reaches for his pump action shot gun from under his trench coat.

“DIE!!!” the punk screams out for all he is worth as he empties eight cartridges into Viper.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DO*******

The drums are silent.

Elsewhere, back at the mansion…..

The figure sitting in the darkness looks up at the bowl. The candle is suddenly blown out, and the bowl stops smoking.

In…..

The figure pulls out a long hunting knife.

…the….

She then raises her left paw and holds her finger over the bowl.

….blackness…..

She then sticks the knife into her finger.

…it…

There is a squelching sound as the tip of the knife cuts into her finger.

…begins…

She then takes the knife away and lets the blood from her finger drip into the bowl.

…again.

The moment the blood hits the bowl, the candle flickers to life and the bowl begins to smoke once more.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Meanwhile….

The two remaining punks are running for their lives. “MOVE IT, DANIEL!!” one was yelling. The other one who blew Viper away has long since discarded his weapon is very out of shape.

“What was the thing.” *puff* “Some sick nightmare?!” *Puff* “Lucky I had my gun.”

“SHUT UP! Just shut up and run.”

The two turn into an alley and rest against a wall.

“C’mon — we can go this way to Louie’s. He’ll know what to do.” They start up their running —

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

— Only to be stopped by a bullet ridden, but quite living, Dr. Viper. He is standing in the moonlight, bleeding like crazy, breathing heavily and growling.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Louie will be waiting — Forever.

The next morning……

RRRRRRRRRIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG **** SMASH!!!

Chance Furlong rolled over, as he ignored the sound of his alarm clock, landing all it’s 107 pieces separately on his bedroom floor. He tried to close his eyes and go back to sleep.

HONK!!

So much for that idea.

Putting on some pants, Chance groggily moved down the stairs and out to the front door.

“Hi, Chance. Trying new jeans on?” Callie said, as he opened the front door.

“Wha—?” Chance cried out. He stared back at the Deputy Mayor, who was looking back at him, trying oh so hard not to burst out into uncontrollable fits of laughter. He looked down at himself to realize that he’d somehow managed to put his legs into his garage working shirt instead of a pair of jeans. “Oops,” he said, blushing heavily underneath his fur.

A few giggles escaped the Deputy Mayor’s lips as she pointed over to her car.

“I’ll wait out here,” she said.

“This won’t take long,” Chance said, bolting back up the stairs and later returning properly dressed for the occasion. When he reappeared at the door, he leaned against the wooden door frame and puffed up his chest.

“What can I do for you, Deputy Mayor?” he said, trying not to give away his T Bone voice.

“First…” She handed Chance his morning paper. “Here’s your paper…. Now, what I came for.” She jerked her thumb over at her car.

“Let me guess….” Chance said, “Car problems.” Callie tapped her finger on her nose. Chance rolled his eyes. “How could I have guessed?” He walked over to the car and popped the hood. “You must be spending thousands on this crate. Callie,” he said, as he poked his nose into the engine. “Every time we fix one thing, another thing plays up. What’s the problem this time?”

“The thermostat’s broken. I just don’t feel like topping up the radiator every time I go to work.” Chance took the radiator cap off and backed off when a jet of steam shot out.

“I’ll have this fixed by tomorrow,” he said, putting the cap back on. He turned to Callie. “Can I call you a cab?” She smiled. “That’d be nice,” she said. Chance closed the bonnet, and began walking towards the kitchen phone.

“You know, Callie,” Chance said. “With the amount of money you spend fixing this car, you could have spent it on a new car.” Callie smiled.

“But, if I did that, I wouldn’t see you and Jake as often as I do.”

Chance looked over at her and flashed her a grin. She smiled back at him.

“This shouldn’t take too long,” Chance said as he passed the kitchen table and picked up the phone. As he dialed, his eyes floated across the newspaper lying on the kitchen table. The headline read “4 KILLINGS : KATS SLASHED TO DEATH.”

Somewhere, in another part of the city…..

As the night fades away in the big city, the darkness begins to dissolve. It is once again time for kats to scurry about.

In an alley, a kat wearing a blue jacket and brown shorts is walking through the alley, the early morning casting a huge shadow on the ground.

His name is Ralph Dill. He likes taking this back way to work because it saves him seven minutes. Just enough time for a jelly donut and coffee. Besides, it’s bright and there aren’t that many shadows about.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Suddenly, a huge black shadow falls across Ralph.

Unfortunately for Ralph —

Gulping, he slowly turns around.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

—- One of those shadows is hungry.

As he sees Dr. Viper leaping for him, jaws wide and eyes glowing, he never gets time to let out a scream.

Later that day…..

The Katizens scurry about their business.

Above them, the TurboKat goes about it’s business. Protecting the city.

Inside, T Bone sits in the pilot seat. His thoughts are lost in what needs to be done today.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

It crawls below. Waiting. Hungering for a hero that flies above it all.

Viper looks out of the alley, at the TurboKat soaring though the sky.

Soon it will feast.

CHAPTER 2

It’s been a long day.

Time now to enjoy a few drinks with a friend.

Two kats dressed in business suits walk out of a local bar and start to head home. Both carry a suit case, but one holds a newspaper. Today’s newspaper. “I don’t know how you do it Stan — work for that idiot boss of ours and still come out smiling!” His friend smiles.

“Hey, take it easy. When old man Borders comes into his office tomorrow — He’s going to find the biggest piece of rubber vomit I could find, on his desk!” He then broke into a huge grin. “And the best part, Morley, is he won’t have a clue.” Morley broke out into a chuckle.

“HA HA HA HA!” He laughed out. “You kill me Stan! I never thought you’d have the guts to do something like that.” Stand smiled slyly.

“That’s because you’re too busy flirting with all the secretaries.” Morley stopped laughing and smiled at his friend.

“Good point.” He said, playfully hitting him with the newspaper he had. “Speaking of which — I’ve got to read you this add from the personals column.” He opened the paper, pausing only for a second to read the same headline that Chance had earlier read before. “Young sensuous female. 27 years old. Looking for rich, wall street type. Must be willing to provide a variety of expensive gifts. In return for the best love-slave you can find. Will give you pleasure the moment you’re done working. Any place, any style —” Stan just shock his head.

“You are one sick puppy Morley!” He interrupted. Morley held up a finger to silence him.

“Quite, there’s more.” Unknowingly to the pair of them, they had walked behind the pub and were heading towards the subway station via a back alley. “So write to Bambi, P.O.BOX 12287, Station G, Megakat City, 10103. P.S. — I will be wild, wet, wonderful and worth it!” He chuckled some more. Not hearing the foot steps behind him.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

“Please write, because together we can take a fantasy trip and try to —”

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

—- RISE ABOVE IT ALL!

Only a faint hiss of evil alerts Stand and Morley. They look up —

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

— But before they even have a chance to focus on the blur —

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

—Their lives are over.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

In the early evening, in the dark alley, one colour dominates the dirt and the garbage.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

That colour, is RED! BLOOD RED!

The Next Morning…..

Chance smeared the dark red jam onto his piece of toast, as he cradled the phone between his ear, and his shoulder.

“So how’s it going Jake?” Chance asked, with a mouth full of toast, as he unfolded the mornings newspaper.

“Great.” Jake said. “Yesterday, I went sky diving, then I went white water rafting. Today, I’m going Scuba Diving.”

Sometimes…….

“Sounds interesting.” Chance said. As he took another bite out of his heavily, Jam laden piece of toast. “But haven’t you done those sorts of things before, like when we were the SWAT Kats?”

….This city can be so disturbing.

Chance never heard what Jake said, as his eyes fell across this mornings headlines. “2 MORE DEAD!” He just stared at the photo, of the two dead kats, lying in the garbage.

“….Been paying attention to a word I’ve said?”

“Huh? What?!” Chance asked. He could hear Jake on the other line sighing.

“Never mind.” Jake said. “Just remember to pick me up at the airport this Friday, Or I’m going to turn into a real monster!”

Monster —-

Chance’s eyes widen at the mention of that word. He spun back to the paper, and stared hard at the picture in the paper.

No. It can’t be him.

Chance stares, wide eye with horror, at the green blood mixed in with the red.

But — He’s dead.

There was only one creature Chance knew had that kind of blood.

Doctor Viper!

“Chance? ! What’s wrong buddy?!” Chance doesn’t reply to his best friends cries.

“Sorry buddy.” Chance said. “I’ve gotta go!” With that, he quickly hung up the phone, and raced for the hanger.

Inside the hanger, Our hero rockets though the underground liar. He is in that obsessive mode, when he is starting to pull. And tug. And stretch.

Within five seconds. T Bone is fully dressed, and racing for the TurboKat.

He’s been though a lot over the years. He is a hero. He is strong.

The mighty roar of the after burners fill the room, as the TurboKat shoots down the runway and into the morning sky.

Nothing can put him over the edge.

Later, that night…….

Inside the monolithic structure of the old abandoned mansion, spirits of the dead dance about the room, ready to obey a higher order. Tonight, the dance will leave none standing.

Inside the old structure, the strange female kat smiles as the fire inside the bowl is now burning brightly.

“It is time.” She says. “Time for the battle —-”

She holds up some fur. Taken from T Bone.

“—-To be joined!”

The ancient potion has been handed down through the centuries. It’s simplicity makes it even more frightening. The right incantation mixed with the right ingredients.

She drops in the fur.

The Hero!

She drops in some ashes.

Body ashes.

She drops in a small garden lizard.

A reptile.

Mixed together—-

She then sticks her paw into the liquid, and brings it out, covered in blood.

—In a pool of fresh blood.

“It is time.”

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

“HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAH AH AH AH AH AH AH HA HA!” The evil dance has become frenzied.

Meanwhile…….

Our hero now patrols the city on Bike. Riding a Cyclotron though the city, he can save more fuel that way.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Suddenly, he feels a slight throbing sensation in his brain. He ignores it. Thinking that he is tried.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Suddenly, the pain is immense.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

His scream is loud. His cry is horrible. Yet, he has no idea what is going on.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

It’s evil.

With a mighty scream, T Bone lets go of the handles, and falls of the Cyclotron and goes rolling into a few garbage cans, and is catapulted into a shop window. The Cyclotron slams into the light post, and explodes into a ball of fire.

Cripes! What was that?!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

My — My head, is pounding like a jackhammer. Can’t concentrate.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Go away. Why won’t it go away?!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

T Bone suddenly, hears a hissing sound behind him.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Turning, he sees Dr. Viper, standing at the shop window, spit dripping from his jaws, his eyes glowing like fire.

Sorry T Bone. It’s not going away. Instead —-

Then, Dr. Viper leapt at T Bone, tackling him to the ground.

—-IT’S COMING!!!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

This killing machine is possessed. It has one mission : To destroy it’s enemy. T Bone. First, it must weaken the hero. The poison on it’s clawtips will engulf his system.

Dr. Viper’s claws sink deep into T Bones left shoulder, then drag all the way across his chest, drawing blood.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

So now, he knows he’s dying. So he fights. Fights with every fibber of his being. Because he knows that with all his full strength —

Chance grabs Dr. Viper and hurls him into a solid brick wall. The Doctor leaves a huge hole in the wall, but is soon back up, rushing at T Bone, with all his lust for hunger.

—Tonight, it won’t be enough!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Viper lunges at T Bone swiping at his face. T Bone tries to avoid this attack, but Viper lands a lucky blow to his face, cutting deep into his check, and cutting his face mask. He then kicks Viper in the stomach, sending him flying.

He has to get away.

T Bone then turns around, and bolts for an elevator, forcing it open, he climbs into the car, and closes the door. He then leans against the wall, trying to catch his breath.

What am I going to DO?!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Think hero, THINK!!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

How am I going to survive this one?

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

You’d better think of something hero —

If Razor were here he’d—

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Suddenly, Dr. Viper tears the elevator door wide open. T Bone spins around to face the wild monster, standing there, hissing at him.

It slices thought the metal doors like some savage carnivore tearing at meat. T Bone doesn’t have time to think —

T Bone then clamps both fists together, and swings them at the Doc., and sends Viper flying once more.

—-Only to react.

Dr. Viper finally stops flying, only to be impaled on a huge metal spike, sticking out of the ground.

Solid steel pierces unholy flesh and bones. Yet, the monster makes no sound.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DO*******

The Evil spirits dance no longer.

T Bone looks at the Doc. Impaled on the metal spike, his green blood oozing all over the wreckage that lies before him. T Bone suddenly grabs his head.

The Dance is over —-

T Bone collapses and rips of his helmet, and tears at his skull.

—-But the poison lives on.

T Bone slowly gets up, after stopping from tearing his head off.

Yes, the dance is over.

Just then, he sees the metal blood covered spike that Viper was stuck on.

Unfortunately, the nightmare has just begun.

Viper is missing.

“What’s happening to ME?!” T Bone screamed out.

Back at the somber mansion….

The She-kat stood over the smoking bowl, It’s fire had gone out once again. But now, was going again. She smiled, as she pulled out a small vial. “Perfect.” She said. “Come sit, my little one.”

Spells, potions, and curses echo through the halls.

The She-kat places the small snippet of fur on the edge of the bowl.

“Lull yourself into a false sense of security. Let your mind relax and your soul become vulnerable”

Elsewhere…..

T Bone rested on the roof top, as he tries to make sense of what was going on.

“Dr. Viper.” He said. “Why did he kill all those kats? I knew he was crazy, but this is just stupid. He’s completely lost it. He was never like that, before his supposed death. I wonder if that explosion effected his mind.” He grabbed his head. “What’s wrong with my mind?” He grabbed his stomach. “Something’s screwy here. My guts are killing me!” He then looks back down at the broken window, where he had just had his battle with the Doc. “His body — it disappeared. He was dead. But HOW?!!”

Above him, the clouds began to rumble.

Back at the Mansion…..

The She-kat then tipped the vial’s contents onto the snippet of fur, hanging on the edge of the bowl.

“Now my pet–” She said. “It is time for the hero, to fall!”

It begins. The soft trickle of droplets. Skewering the night with rhythmic beats.

T Bone now leans against the chimney breathing heavily, as the rain begins to splash down on him.

A shower of life from the heavens. Adding to the pain, the anguish, the poison our hero now feels.

Back at the mansion, the She-kat sticks the knife into her finger, and lets some more drips of blood fall onto the piece of fur on the bowls edge.

“Rise.” She commands. “It is time.”

Beating, pounding. Pounding like a sledgehammer. Until it reaches into his head. Into his subconscious. Toying with his soul.

T Bone then notes that some of the rain drops feel heavy.

Playing him the fool!

T Bone then saw the green droplet slowly traveling down his chest.

Blood.

T Bone held out his paw, and realized that it was raining green.

Not his blood.

T Bone slowly turns his head, and looks up.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

His mind tells him that what he sees cannot be. That this is all a dream. Our hero had better wake up, then, because tonight it’s raining down—Death!

“Crap.” Was all T Bone said.

CHAPTER 3 The City is covered with a blanket of rain. It is just past midnight, but the weather and time have no meaning to this sprawling landscape. The buildings arch upward. Hiding the Katizense who dwell within. Higher and higher they climb. Reaching heights unimagined a century earlier. Quiet. Unfeeling. These giant barricades serve as protectors. Stoic, the towering behemoths are totally unaware of the environment. They are immovable, these buildings that seem to—-

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

—RISE ABOVE IT ALL!

Yes, these bricks are unmoveable, but only until they are meet with a force greater than theirs.

Dr. Viper then leapt at T Bone, and sent him, and the chimney he was leaning against, flying.

Locked in a deadly battle. The reason for which T Bone has absolutely no clue.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Dr. Viper has a kill count of seven.

T Bone clambered out of the wreckage of the chimney, only to be meet with a tail slap from Viper.

For now.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

With a poison gnawing at his insides —

T Bone, with every ounce of strength he has, hurls what ever derby he can get his paws on at Dr. Viper. Bricks, masonry, concrete, anything, that is not bolted down.

—-T Bone fights back. His senses have gone haywire. His mind clouded. Yet he knows that, unless he can focus himself.—-

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

When T Bone has run out of things to throw at Viper, he watches in horror, as Viper turns around, his face his bloody, but his evil grin says otherwise.

—This monstrosity who would always back out from a psychical fight, will not hesitate to kill him!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Elsewhere in the City…..

The She-kat held the vial up in the air. It was full of blood.

“Easy my pet–” She said. “–Let us feast on the moment. For we do not want to make this too easy.” She held the vial over the smoking bowl. “He will be made an example to the world. But first he must suffer!” She began to pore the blood into the bowl. “The SWAT Kat, must suffer.”

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Viper grabbed T Bone’s face, and slammed it into the wall, sending bricks, and masonry flying.

“ARRRRGGGGGHH!” T Bone screamed out. He then kicked forward with both feet, and knocked Viper off him. He then raised his Gloveatrix, and fired a bola missile at the Doc, tying him up. T Bone took this opportunity to take some time out. Pain —- It’s immense!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

T Bone grabbed at his guts. He was burning all over. He looked straight up to the heavens. “WHAT’S HAPPENING TO ME????!!!!!” He screamed. His cry echoed though out the night.

The pain, the poison, the relentless pounding in his head. It has all taken its toll. He begins to feel himself wobble —-

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM T Bone turned as he herd the sound of Viper growling. He was back for more.

—Just as the creature prepares to feed. The pounding becomes louder.

….AND LOUDER!!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Until —-

T Bone grabbed his head and jerked it backwards, almost ripping it off. “STOP!!!!” He screamed out. Then, T Bone just collapses from exhaustion.

—Our hero crumbles to the ground. Unconscious. For the moment, T Bone feels no pain. When he awakes he might soon wish—

Viper suddenly appears over him, salvia dripping from his teeth.

—-He were dead.

His giant mouth opens and a forked tongue snakes towards T Bones throat.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

As the rain begins to subside, the creature mounts it’s prey. It has gone hungry long enough. Time to satisfy it’s craving.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Like some blood-crazed vampire, Dr. Viper means to rip out the SWAT Kat’s jugular.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DO***** *STOP*

The monster freezes.

In the old mansion, Evil blows in the darkened halls. Ancient spirits lend their souls to the unholy ritual. The power builds. The magic increases. Unnatural forces feeding upon its desire for another victim.

“The hero must suffer.” The she-kat hissed.

Suffer he will. The creature lifts the broken hero to the heavens above. The gods give no reply.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Obeying it’s commands, the creature hurls the limp figure downward. Falling to earth, with increasing speed.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Only the discarded garbage made for katkind’s use, saves T Bone from sudden death. The hero is suffering.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DO*******

Sleep. Sleep hero. You have earned this rest.

T Bone lay in the piles of garbage, as the rain slowly runs down his battered, and bruised body. His costume is ripped, and torn in so many places that it’ll have to be replaced.

Nestled in the bed of garbage, he lets his mind drift. Back to when it was a simpler time. A time when he had no worries. It was a good life. Then came the day. It was day like any other. He was chasing the badguy. He was going to destroy Enforcer H.Q. He was so close to victory. But your Commander stepped in. Caused the hero to falter. Caused the hero to plunge down. Down. Into the darkness. Into the abyss. The hero was wrongly accused. But did the Commander care. No. He got the sack. That moment, the kat grew up. He became a hero. He became a Kat. A SWAT Kat.

Somewhere in the darkness —

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

—Reality is being distorted.

The She-kat pored some more blood into the smoking bowl. She smiled, and her eye’s glowed.

“Now it is time my pet.” She said. “Come to me, my pet. Come!”

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Like some demonic canine, the creature heeds it’s master. Though it thirsts for blood, Dr. Viper is compelled to obey. Such is the strength of evil with a purpose.

Elsewhere……

The hero stirs.

T Bone starts to come to. Slowly, he begins to move.

Despite what has happened to him, he is still fighting. His mind and senses come blistering back to reality. Here, in the bowels of Katkinds garbage, our hero is trying to swim back into our world. Slowly. He reaches the surface. Unfortunately, for all of us —

T Bone grabbed his head. It was throbbing like hell.

—some things never change.

“Oh boy — w-where am I?”

Then everything becomes clear. Painfully clear. The poison.

“Not —- again…..”

The pounding.

“—please—”

The agony.

T Bone tries to get up, and walk. But it’s like trying to walk with a fifty pound weight on his back.

He only has one thought on his mind, as he staggers to his feet. To get home.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

FAST!!!

“Stay a while longer T Bone—” T Bone’s eyes went wide with horror. He knew that voice. Slowly. Very slowly. He raised his head, and looked into the pouring night. Though the pain. Though the rain. Though the pounding. He saw the figure the voice came from.

No. It’s not possible.

“—For the night has just begun.” Dark Kat said. His cloak was charred, burnt, and parts of his skeleton can be seen. The left side of his face is completely gone, leaving only a bloody skull. His fur was a sickening green. Beside him, crouched like a dog, sat Dr. Viper.

Suddenly, the hero’s sanity is in question.

CHAPTER 4

Dead. The hero thought he was dead. He had gathered together some of the most powerful villains the hero had ever fought. Kidnapped Callie, and Manx, forced the Hero, and his partner, into a final confrontation. At some moments, things look bleak. But everything turned out for the better. Then he activated a bomb. And blew the whole island, and everything on it, to kingdom come. The hero’s mind tells him that something is wrong. He can’t be back from the grave. He can beat any odds, the sickly smirk tells us. Against death. Against T Bone. No matter what, he’ll always —-

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

—-RISE ABOVE IT ALL!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Even if he still looks dead. And the monstrosity called Dr. Viper. For the hundredth time, the Hero tries to denies it. This isn’t happening. Well, tonight T Bone, whether you planned it or not, you have a date with a dead kat.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

“The battle may be over, but the war has still yet to be won.” The zombie Dark Kat said.

“No.” T Bone whimpered. He began to edge away from the zombie Dark Kat, backing up against the alley wall.

The hero is not prepared for this. At least, not now. As he spirals about in the tide of garbage, his sanity begins to desert him. Blackness envelopes his mind, pulling at the very fibers of his consciousness. he can’t breath. Can’t see. The poison.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

“NO!” T Bone cried out, as he shot straight up, but then collapsed .

“The fool.” The Zombie Dark Kat said. “Look at him fail at some unseen ghost.”

But even heroes have their limits. Tonight T Bone has meet his.

T Bone rolls a few times.

The hero does not move.

In that moment, the spell is broken. The illusion created with the help of ancient incantations, gives way to reality. For this is no dead kat that torments our hero.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Merely some insane enemy with an unknown plan.

T Bone opens his eyes, and sees Dr. Viper crouched next to some she-kat. She has dark brown fur, with jet black hair with beads tied into the dreadlocks. She wears a piece of cloth around her waist like Tarzan, except she also has a belt with spikes sown into it. She wears elaborate julwery around her neck, and wrists. Around her breast, she wears a very tight bra, which has painted on it, the eyes of a lion. Painted on her chest fur, she has painted a fierce looking lion, which matches the eyes on her bra. Here eye’s glow like red head lights.

“Perfect.” The witch says. She raises her paws to the heavens and smiles, an evil smile. “Everything has turned out perfect.”

At her side is the transformed figure of Dr. Elrod Purvis, now know as Dr. Viper. Since his reappearance twenty-four hours ago, the usually talkative creature has not uttered one syllable.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Someone is controlling it.

“Let us go.” The witch says.

With an unspoken command, Dr. Viper turns. Instincts wanting to leap forward and tear apart the hero, are held in check.

Somehow, this creature lives only to serve it’s new master. But it can smell the blood of it’s enemy — The SWAT Kat.

How long it will continue to obey, no one knows. Neither does she.

Sometime later…..

Wha–?!

Where

I?

T Bone started to come too.

And for the millionth time — what the hell is going on?!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

“Awake already?” T Bone looked up at the witch. “Your persistence is admirable.”

“Who—are—you–?” T Bone asked. Barely being able to speak. “And—where—is—Dark Kat?!” The witch laughed at him. T Bone then realized that his arms are tied up, but his legs aren’t.

“You poor, poor fool.” The witch said. “Dark Kat is dead. Or at least I think so. I have not been able to find his soul.” She looked at T Bone as he tried to break the bonds that held him. “His weakness killed him. He did not have the power. He was not worthy.”

The lady is a psycho.

Chance, unfortunately, you’re not in much of a position to do anything about it.

Chance doubled over, leaning down, his face fur was slick with sweat.

I’m burning up inside, weak, have to buy some time, recover, or else I’m dead. The worst part is, I’ve got no idea what’s, going on.

T Bone looks up and over at Viper.

“Viper, why are you working for this lady hey? I thought Dr. Viper plays second fiddle to no one?”

Is that—a smile? Does he understand —

Viper suddenly snapped at T Bone, his jaws snapped just inches away from Chance’s face. Spit and saliva covered T Bone’s face.

WRONG!!!

“Stop!”

The creature freezes.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

“Soon my pet, you will feast.”

She approaches a basin of warm, wet, shimmering blood. The liquid contains two essential ingredients — lizards, and hero fur.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Defying the gods — she laughs. Crimson gore spurts in smooth arcs across the still blackness of the ancient ancillary.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM The witch splashes blood towards Viper.

Power courses though the red liquid. Power to control. To torment. To utterly toy with the lives of others, to satisfy some insatiable need. She begins to drift. Barley aware of T Bone now, her mind is elsewhere In some sort of trance, the mysterious she-kat closes her eyes, and listens to the rhythm of the magic.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

T Bone raised his head, just enough to see the witch.

“Talk to me lady. Tell me, all your plans. Isn’t that what you — bad guys — live for?!”

She stands unmoving.

No good. She’s a sick one. Why is she doing this. Why?! The poison, the beatings. What’s it all for? And the Doc. Where does he come into all of this?

She stands unmoving. As she remembers the past. Emotionless, she stands transfixed. Her mind, skirting back in time, to a small Caribbean island, where magic is ruler of the land. Where dreams are not made, but destroyed. The power that the tribal heads wielded made her envious. So she studied. Giving of herself totally. Embracing the ways of evil. Being drawn deeper and deeper into the darkness. She savored every ritual. Knowing that she would soon be her own master. Then came the sacred, ceremonial baptism. Before the night was over — she had made her first kill. Years later, she meet him. Dark Kat. He pleased her. He loved her. When Dark Kat left, her lust needed direction. So she seduced the gods in her quest for immeasurable powers. She needed to become, not a witch — but THE Witch. At a secret altar, her younger sister begged for her life. Without hesitation — The Witch had made her second kill — and first soul. Finally, she had her power. She had her Voodoo! Her passion is now for evil.

The Witch looked over at T Bone. She smiled.

At present, the number of souls she has taken is staggering. But tonight —-

The Witch then stuck her paw into the blood bowl, and lifted out some more blood.

—she means to add one more to her list. That of the hero.

Then, it stops.

A trickle of blood runs down T Bone’s face, and drips off his nose. A clawed finger catches the dripping blood. And a snake-like tongue licks it clean.

The insanity, unfortunately , continues.

The Witch stands frozen, channeling the evil spirits that serve her. Thoughts are scattered.

“Dark Kat. Fool. Weak. Powerless.” She chanted.

The crescendo builds. The numbing beat becomes a frenzied pounding.

“It is time.” The Witch says.

Dr. Viper shifts it’s weight, saliva oozes from it’s toothy maw. Finally, it shall feast.

T Bone looked though his eye holes at the Doc. slowly crawling towards him.

Time’s up Chance! If you’re going to act. You’d better do it —-

—NOW!!!

With a burst of strength, T Bone burst free of his bonds.

Just built enough strength.

“You’re both CRAZY!!!!” T Bone screamed out. Viper leapt at him. He raised his right paw, to discover that he no longer has his glovatrix.

Now what?! I’ve already found out I can’t kill Dr. Viper. My guts are still on fire, and I’ve got nothing to fight back with.

Viper tackled T Bone to the ground. The both of them, slammed into wall.

Oh boy.

Summoning all his strength, T Bone kicks out hard, and sends Viper smashing into the special altar made by The Witch. Smashing everything, and spilling the flames onto the floor.

The trance has been broken.

“Idiots!” She screamed. “The flames — They are about to —”

T Bone watches, mesmerized, as a broken pipe, leaks a drop of oil.

The hero does not move.

The droplet of oil dropped towards the flame.

There is no time.

T Bone watches as the droplet connects with the flame.

Oh shi —-

CHAPTER 5

Megakat City Enforcers. Friday : 2:54 am.

Usually, Enforcer Head Quarters is a quite place at this time in the morning. But at this particular time. The radio’s are jammed with calls —–

“Hey boys, we’ve got a huge explosion on the upper east side. Happened a few minutes ago.” “I’ll call the fire marshal.” “Holy Kats! Look at the number of reports! This is serious. C’mon, George, we’d better check this out.” “You’d better hurry. There might not be anything left when you get there.” “All units, we have an explosion with fire in progress —” “Fire department needs assistance at Ninety-sixth and third.” “This is Commander Feral! Proceed with caution. Possible chain reaction if surrounding piping gets hit!” “This is Unit Five, we have the smoke is sight.” “Ten-four, OUT!”

The stillness of night has been broken. Sirens begin to wail as they speed along Megakat City Park. High above the city, smoke snakes upwards. It’s point of origin being left behind for others to care for. The confusion — the destruction, have no meaning to the smoke, the sky, the wind. The smoke’s sole purpose is to drift aimlessly and to —-

—–RISE ABOVE IT ALL!

It will take four and a half minutes for the fire trucks to arrive. The next four minutes will seem like an eternity for our hero. His name is T Bone. The explosion did not kill him. Soon he may be sorry for that.

T Bone was a wreck. He is covered with cuts, gashes and bruises. His mask is ruined. His hair pokes though the top, it hung around his face, just holding on by a thread, making one eye hole look bigger than the other. He has a huge gash, on his chest, and his whole costume is ripped torn. On the back of his costume is a huge hole, caused by the blast, and on his right leg, the trouser leg is completely gone. His gloves are almost gone, and his left sleeve is nearly gone. He was perched in the rafters of the burning mansion. On the broken wooden railings. Chains, wood, metal, and concrete hung all around him. T Bone just clung there, his claws dug into the wood, and his body spread out like a big ‘X’. His head hung, while he was breathing heavily. He is bleeding badly and his fur is soaked from sweating like a pig. It was literally raining underneath him. The heat from the fire is immense.

The poison. Still there. Got to make sense of this.

As our hero hangs there, his costume falling to bits around him. His body slowly dying. He tries to recall the events that lead up to this moment.

The Doc. The ruptured gas line. Resulting in devastation. All because of The Witch. Came from nowhere, no reason, no answers. She took control of Dr. Viper, and commanded him to kill seven innocent kats. Got no name from her. The poison she has given me still gnaws at my insides.

He then realizes, that if he is going die — He then must at least let there be a reason. Slowly, he begins to move. Down. Then, he freezes — the pain inside him. Cramps his stomach. His grip begins to slide. His head is pounding.

harder.

And HARDER!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Evil has risen from the dead.

A scaly arm suddenly shoots out of the rubble, and Dr. Viper, bleeding, but still alive, moves a heavy piece of fallen roof.

“My pet.” The Witch slowly gets up. She has a few cuts and bruises, but nothing serious. “Nothing can stop us!”

The witch bleeds. Life drains from her — but she is blinded to it all. Consumed with an image that must be obliterated, cleansed from her mind. An image of — the SWAT Kat.

T Bone? T Bone?

Locked in a supernatural trance, The Witch now focuses on — The SWAT Kat! The grotesque creature at her side can only drool in anticipation.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Her soul belongs to some ungodly sprit. In return, she has been granted power.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

She savors the strength it gives her. The magic. The lust for blood.

T Bone watches helplessly from the roof. He is sweating uncontrollably. His sweat is running down him and dripping onto the floor below.

What the hell is she doing?! Can’t let her find me —- TOO WEAK!!

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM She knows he is alive. T Bone will not hide much longer.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Now she must concentrate on the poison.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

It is her beacon.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

It is his death.

A droplet of sweat dripped of T Bone’s finger, and landed on the Witches own finger as she pointed towards the heavens.

“There he is —” She shouted. “Above!”

Death widens it’s jaws. Dr. Viper readies himself to leap at T Bone, but T Bone, doesn’t let that happen.

Nothing could push our hero over the edge. Nothing. But tonight. He has finally found something. He has been pushed over the edge. And he doesn’t like it one bit.

“ENOUGH!!!!!” T Bone screams. And with that, he leapt from his hiding spot, towards the ground below.

Aching. Bleeding. Poisoned. He has had enough. It is time for T Bone to meet evil head on. Again, the creature drools with anticipation.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

The SWAT Kat has become unglued. Racked with pain, poison eating his mind. He feels his life ebbing away. But before he goes he must know —

“WHY???!!!!!!” T Bone screamed as he clamped his paws around Dr. Vipers neck, and slammed his head into the ground. But with a single swipe of his paw, Dr. Viper sends his prey flying into another pile of broken, burnt wood.

The creature attacks with savage force. It too, has become unglued.

Viper crawled over to T Bone, lying in the pile of wood.

Frenzied. Obsessed. Insane. It has been far too long since its last kill.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

It is time to feast. Time to rip the legs of T Bone, one by one. In the background, The Witch cackles. Laughing at the sound of his bones crushing. the SWAT Kat is pathetic. A foe who is too weak to beat the powers of death. The powers of—-the Voodoo.

Viper’s jaws open wide, as he prepares to make his eighth kill.

“NO!”

Yet again, the monster is to be denied. The monster has gone through it’s own torment this night.

“Something is wrong, my pet.” The Witch said, as she looked at the fallen figure of T Bone, struggling to get up. “The poison should have killed him by now.” She placed her paw on his head. “It is time to speed up the process.”

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM

Low mumbling escape her lips. Power is put into play. T Bones guts are about to burst. His head about to explode. He does not scream. Nor beg. Only wonder.

“—Just—tell—me—why—” T Bone managed to gasp out.

Her silence taunts him. As his head raises, all sense of sanity are gone.

That’s it Chance — You’ve put up with her crap long enough — wasted too much time —trying to escape —- figure that out —- later —-much later!

T Bone, using every ounce of strength left in his body, manages an amazing, and impossible twenty-one foot leap, into the burning roof. He waits there, waits for the creature, to make its move.

He doesn’t have to wait long.

Viper leaps at T Bone, snarling, claws reaching out for him. T Bone grabs some nearby chains, and gets ready.

He hurls the chains forward with the last ounce of power he has left.

Enough to break a neck.

Viper is caught up in the chains. He falls back to earth, but his decent is suddenly halted, by the chains. So is his movement.

DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DOOM DO******

The creature has been denied its final time. It’s torment is over. The SWAT Kat is winning.

The Witch watches with displeasure as the green blood from Dr. Viper drips onto the ground in front of her.

Time now to bluff.

“—Guess—who’s—next—” T Bone painted. The Witch was not pleased.

“You, my dear insect, are going to die!”

Her voice has been drowned out.

T Bone turned his head in the direction of the sound.

Sirens. Lots and lots of sirens. The four and a half minutes have passed. The Witch will not take on an army. There is no need. She has an infinite amount of tomorrow’s. Plenty of time to hunt and kill her chosen prey. Ten tons of destruction bury the evil. The sound of laughter echoes into the night.

She then exploded in a cloud of green smoke. T Bone was hurled from his roof perch.

Our hero will not be part of the deal. T Bone has won. He had nothing to do with it’s start. Less to do with its end. Yet he is the victor. Merely by default.

T Bone looked around, but she was no were to be seen.

“Cripes! What—did she—do?!”

He looks around, searches for an answer. But won’t find one. Tortured enough, he will leave others to deal with the aftermath. Tomorrow morning the papers will tell of a mysterious fire. It will give a monetary value to property damage. It will state that only one fireman received minor injuries. it will also say that no bodies were found.

T Bone, before anyone can spot him, crawls into a near by alley. He watches the blazing house for awhile, then slips away into the darkness. After the fire is finally put out, the Enforcers are inspecting the burnt out building. They come across a huge green puddle of blood, which is dripping from some over hanging chains. The chains are empty.

Our hero will have even more unanswered questions. For now, there are other concerns. The poison will not kill him. Whatever it is that made him a SWAT Kat, also saved his life. He will need time to rest. And so, the hero returns to his lair.

T Bone ran, stumbled, and crawled, all the way home. Luckily, no one saw him, so he walked in the front door of the garage.

“Honey — I’m home.” He said sarcastically, before collapsing on the couch, and going straight to sleep. Even hero’s have their limits.

Sleep. Sleep hero. You’ve earnt this rest.

Meanwhile, At Megakat Bay……..

But in the days ahead it is not the physical pain that will cripple him. He will heal. It is that fact that being a hero makes him a target. Unprovoked attacks that make no sense, that give no answers. For without reason, the mind can only imagine. Speculations that can drive you crazy. That will be your torment. Yet somehow you must seek to—-

In the dark merky water of the bay, the ever calm waters suddenly stir. In an explosion of bubbles, water and green blood, the clawed paw of Dr. Viper shoots out of the water.

  1. Cody says:

This was a great story, and I’m kinda glad that it focuses on T-Bone! It’s kinda funny to me that I never realized that this was lifted from the Spider Man comic story arc of the same name until I read it a few times.
