Notes: I love the legend of the Loch Ness Monster. I just had to write a story on it. Don’t worry, it’ll pick up!

Many legends have their place in history. Some are more famous than others. Some are very lost and forgotten while some are engraved into every living soul. But, others may be famous, but have more than meets the eye to them.

A cool breeze swept up off of the Loch Ness. A tan she-kat stood on the shore, watching the gentle waves wash up on to the pebbles. A huge castle loomed behind her. Hills upon hills of green rolling grass lay behind her. A midnight moon shone silver on the grass and loch.

She watched as pieces of wood floated ashore from the boat wreck that happened in the past hour. Heaving a sigh, she took out her cell phone and dialed a number.

Back in MegaKat City, it was around five in the afternoon. Mayor Calico Briggs sat in her office, looking over some papers. The tan she-kat sighed and took off her glasses. Her blonde hair fell into her face as she laid her head down on the table.

A loud ringing startled her. She jumped back up and replaced her glasses on her face. She took out her cell phone and flipped it open.

“Hello?” she asked.

“Hey, Callie,” a friendly, accented voice answered.

“Shannon, what are doing up?” Callie leaned back in her chair. “It’s like midnight in Scotland, isn’t it?”

“Yes,” Shannon groaned. “Nessie took out another boat.”

“She did?” Callie sat forward as she listened to her cousin.

“Aye, she did,” Shannon answered. “That’s the fifth boat this month. And, the attacks are getting more violent.”

“What boat did she sink?” Callie asked as she looked out over the bay.

“She sunk Dr. Forest’s,” Shannon replied. “Luckily, Dr. Forest and her research got out alive.”

“Oh, Shannon, I’m sorry to hear about that,” Callie returned.

“Callie,” Shannon started out. “I think it’s time I get the SWAT Kats out here.”

“I’m not sure they’ll go,” Callie was surprised at her cousin.

“Well, would you please ask them?” Shannon pleaded.

“Yes, I’ll ask them,” Callie answered.

“Call me as soon as you get an answer.” Shannon flipped her phone shut.

Callie looked out the window again and sighed. She opened her purse and dug out the triangular device that she’d used so many times. She pressed the red button in the middle of it.
