Here it is in all it’s glory! If it looks familiar…live with it!
Razor sat on a large rock overlooking a river. Several dinosaur herds had gathered there to drink. The setting sun covered the overhead clouds with hues of orange and red.
“You feeling okay?” a familiar voice called out.
Razor turned to see Felina standing behind him. She had her helmet off, and her ebony hair hung around her shoulders.
“Yeah, I’m all right,” he replied, staring at the dinosaur herds. “But, I sure don’t feel like it.”
Felina sat down next to him and put a paw on his shoulder. “I know you meant nothing by what you said. Joseph can drive me to say things I don’t want to, also.”
“I feel like such a spaz.”
Felina smiled and stood up. “Maybe we should head back; I don’t want to see what lurks here around dark.”
Back at the camp, T-Bone and Feral were trying to start a fire… but ended up arguing more than working.
“If you rub these two sticks together, you’ll get the fire started!” Feral growled.
“Oh yeah! I say it’s easier to use a match!” T-Bone snarled back.
Nicole watched their petty argument in silence. She had finally stopped crying, but still felt horrible. And, Steele and Joseph’s off-key version of “Kumbayah!” wasn’t helping her feel any better. She looked up when she saw Felina and Razor enter the camp. Nicole turned her head when she noticed Razor was looking at her. She closed her eyes and waited for the morning to arrive.
The next afternoon, the small group was huddled together, trying to figure out a way to get the carbine back.
T-Bone sighed. “There has to be something.” he muttered.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Everyone shook their heads.
Nicole suddenly stood up and walked away from the group. Razor got up and followed her. She stopped when she reached the edge of the clearing.
“Nicole…” Razor said softly as he walked up next to her. “…Are you okay?”
Nicole frowned. “No! I am not okay! Will you just leave me alone?”
Razor sighed. “Okay.” He started to leave, but stopped and looked back at her. “I’m sorry,” he said, just loud enough for her to hear.
Nicole raised her head and looked back at him, but he had left.
“I’ve got it!” T-Bone cried, leaping up. “I know how we can get those raptors out of there!”
“How?” Feral asked.
T-Bone grinned at Razor, who was just returning. “Live bait!”
Razor sat upon the Cyclotron perched several feet from the raptor nest.
“If this were my idea, I’d say it was crazy,” Razor muttered to himself.
T-Bone gave his partner a smirk. “Okay, you get the raptors to follow you, buddy. Then the rest of us will drag the carbine back to camp and fix the jet and chopper.”
“Are you sure this will work?”
T-Bone thought for a moment. “No.”
“Wonderful!” Razor grumbled as he revved the engine. He turned the Cyclotron around to face the nest.
“Wait!” Nicole cried out. She ran over to the Cyclotron and got in the back seat. “I’m coming with you!” she said as she pulled out her Enforcer handgun.
Razor smiled. “The more the merrier.” he turned to T-Bone. “Wish me luck.”
Razor floored the gas and the Cyclotron sped down the small hill towards the nest. When the raptors saw them coming, they raised their heads and snarled. Razor turned the bike at the last second, sending dirt and dust in the raptor’s direction.
“Hey bird brains. Come and get it!” Razor yelled at them as they took off.
The raptors quickly took off after them.
The Cyclotron raced across a grassy plain, leaving the jungle behind. Nicole readied her gun as the raptors came up on either side of the bike. One raptor came a bit too close and snapped at Razor’s tail.
“Nicole…shoot it!” He yelled over the roar of the engines.
Nicole aimed at the raptor and pulled the trigger. The raptor fell to the ground.
“One down, three to go,” Nicole said.
They raced towards the other end of the jungle. If they made it into the jungle, they might have a chance to loose the raptors on the dense foliage. Nicole turned in her seat and fired at another raptor. That one fell also.
Razor urged the Cyclotron for more speed as they got closer to their destination. The third raptor pulled up next to them and snapped at the tires. Nicole took this one down as well.
“One more left!”
The jungle spread out before them. The Cyclotron suddenly hit a large rock and sent its passengers flying. Razor got up quickly and helped Nicole to her feet quickly.
The raptor snarled and faced them. It crouched into an attacking position. The second it lunged for them, Razor and Nicole ran out of its way, sending the raptor sprawling. Razor ran over to the Cyclotron and picked it up. He got on it, and Nicole followed suit.
“Wait! Where’s my gun?” she asked.
Razor looked back at the raptor, who stood up and roared at them.
“No time!” He gunned the engine and took off towards the jungle.
The raptor took chase and kept right next to them. It snarled and grabbed hold of the rear spoiler. Nicole bared her claws and scratched it across the snout. The raptor let go and snarled in pain.
Suddenly, a loud roar pervaded the air. The massive head of the Tyrannosaur came into view behind them.
“Awww krud!” Razor groaned.
The Rex started to chase them also.
“Only a few more feet!” Nicole cried out. Razor pushed the Cyclotron to its limit, trying to keep ahead of the carnivores.
Razor looked back in surprise to see the jaws of the T-Rex clamp down on the remaining raptor.
“Bingo!” Razor yelled as the Cyclotron entered the jungle.
Feral glanced at his watch. “They’ve been gone too long.”
T-Bone walked over to him. “The one chopper is fixed, and so is the Turbokat. We can fly when Razor and Nicole get back.”
Felina pointed to the edge of the clearing. “They’re back!”
The Cyclotron sped out of the jungle and stopped next to the Turbokat. Nicole climbed off.
T-Bone looked up at the portal, growing smaller. “Let’s fly!”
The SWAT Kats jumped into their jet, while the Enforcers piled into the one chopper.
Slowly, the two aircraft lifted up into the sky and through the portal.
Lightning flashed as they barely made it through the other end of the vortex.
T-Bone looked at the familiar sight. “Megakat City…home sweet home.”
Razor chuckled and looked over at the Enforcer chopper. Nicole smiled and blew a kiss to him. He grinned.
“You can say that again!”
